The state’s 2,900 logistics companies booked a turnover of 2.7 billion euros in 2012 – and the trend is increasing. Something is moving here! For instance, the world’s largest automated returns warehouse is located at the “Hermes Fulfilment” distribution centre in Haldensleben. And 3,000 employees handle 16,000 components every hour. Areas with outstanding transport connections such as the industrial & logistics centre in Rothensee are suitable for immediate development. The Finsterwalder CargoLine Group has settled in Halle (Saale) with a 250,000 m² logistics area, while the logistics service provider Arvato supports several major customers on its 40,000 m² area in nearby Landsberg.
